Ambassador (Dr.) Patrick Dele Cole
Chairman
Ambassador (Dr.) Patrick Dele Cole holds a Ph.D from Kings College, Cambridge, United Kingdom and a Masters Degree from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He has over forty years experience in both the public and private sectors in Nigeria and has held the following political office positions:
• Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Brazil (1987-1990)
• Deputy National Chairman (South South) of the People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria (1998-1999)
• Special Adviser on International Relations to President Olusegun Obasanjo (1999-2001)
In 1969, he was a visiting professor at the University of Pennyslavia, USA and from 1970-1973, he was a fellow at Kings College, Cambridge, United Kingdom. Prior to joining ASL as the Chairman in 2003, Ambassador (Dr.) Cole was a senior bureaucrat in the Cabinet Office in the early/mid seventies and a former Managing Director of Daily Times Nigeria Limited. He was once the Chairman of Abuja Hotels and is currently a member of the Board of Guardian Newspapers and former Chairman of Nigeria Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO).
Mr. Richard Akerele
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Akerele holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Western Illinois University. He is a management professional with over twenty years experience in the Nigerian telecommunications, business and aviation services sector. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of EKO L’Meridian Hotels and a consultant for Forte Hotels in Nigeria. Mr. Akerele was a member of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group and a former Chairman of the sub-committee for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority. He was appointed a member of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Committee in Revenue Generation in the Aviation sector. In 2007, Mr. Akerele and his team won the “Africa Investor Award for Privatisation Deal of the Year”
Otunba Solomon K. Onafowokan, OON
Director
Otunba Onafowokan, OON holds a Post Graduate Degree in Business Administration and is the President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is the Chairman of Coleman Wires and Cables Limited, Chellarams Plc and Artee Industries Limited. In December 1998, he was conferred with the title of Ashiwaju of Remo Kingdom and in October, 2006 was honoured with the National award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Ms. Jumoke Ogundare
Director
Ms. Ogundare is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Asset & Resource Management Company Ltd (ARM). She joined the Board of ARM in 2004 and she oversees ARM's asset
management business, managing business development, investment management and research, ARM Trustees, ARM Securities and the ARM Mutual Funds (ARM Discovery Fund and ARM Aggressive Growth Fund). She also oversees the Group Cash Management Office, Group Operations, and Legal and Compliance Departments. Ms. Ogundare has several years of credit & marketing experience spanning International Merchant Bank (IMB), Prime Merchant Bank Limited, and Citadel Savings and Loans Limited.
Ms. Ogundare holds a BSc. in Economics from the University of Jos, and a Masters in Business Administration degree from Cardiff Business School in Wales. She is also an alumnus of the Program for Management Development (PMD) of the Harvard Business School. She currently serves on the Board of ARM, ARM Pensions and ARM Securities.
Mr. Sadiq Mohammed
Director
Mr. Mohammed is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Asset & Resource Management Company Limited (ARM) and is currently the Managing Director of ARM Pensions. He also
has responsibility for the Group Procurement & Administration, and the Information Technology units.
Until his appointment as Deputy Managing Director of ARM Pensions in January, 2011, he was the Chief Operating Officer of ARM Investment Managers and prior to this, he was the Managing Director in charge of ARM’s Proprietary business, overseeing the firm's Proprietary Investments & Principal Investments Division. He worked for 3 years as a tax and business advisory consultant with Arthur Andersen Nigeria before joining ARM Investment Managers in October, 1996. Within ARM, Mr. Mohammed rose through the ranks of the Research and Investment Management Unit of the firm to head it in 1999, after which he had oversight of the Financial Advisory Business for about 2 years.
He is a Fellow of the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) having earned GARP's Financial Risk Manager (FRM) Charter in 2003 and is also an Industrial Chemistry graduate of Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa University, Bauchi. In addition, in 2006, Mr. Mohammed completed a dual part-time International Wealth Management Executive MBA (IWEMBA) at Carnegie-Mellon University & University of Geneva. He has also attended several technical and management courses both locally and abroad over the last 17 years of his working experience. Mr. Mohammed currently serves on the Board of ARM, Lekki Concession Company (LCC) and the Moorhouse Sofitel amongst other companies.
Mr. Alfred Rigler
Director
Mr. Rigler is currently the Regional Chief Operating Officer for Africa, Eastern Europe/Russia, Middle East and India at LSG Sky Chefs. He is responsible for the operations and the strategic development of the above regions which includes 20 customer service centers, management agreements and joint ventures. Prior to his current position, Mr. Rigler was responsible for LSG Sky Chefs’ operations in the Nordic/Eastern Europe region between 2008 and 2009 and Latin America between 2005 and 2008.
Mr. Rigler is a trained chef and a graduate of the Hotel Management School in Heidelberg, Germany. He joined Lufthansa German Airlines in 1990 and moved to LSG Sky Chefs in 1995 based on Lufthansa Airlines’ decision to transfer its in-flight service department to its catering subsidiary. He was appointed the Managing Director of the In-flight Management Solutions GmbH in 2003.
